Phoenix Waters Productions, based in both London and Hong Kong, is a film and TV production company dedicated to bridging the East and West. The company focuses on producing genre-driven projects with global appeal, aiming to bring Hong Kong cinema back into the international spotlight while delivering commercially viable content for both Asian and Western markets.
Key projects include Forensic Psychologist, a Hong Kong crime series currently in discussions with Sky for an English remake, and a Hong Kong adaptation of Richard Linklater's Tape, set to release in China and screen in Hong Kong shortly. Additionally, Phoenix Waters Productions has formed a strategic partnership with Hong Kong's ATV to launch its international arm and support local content development.
The company is also preparing to launch a media fund next month in collaboration with a major Korean venture capital firm, aimed at financing commercial content across Asia with international appeal. Furthermore, they are set to begin filming an action film in November that pays tribute to classic Hong Kong cinema, with investment and distribution secured across Mainland China, South Korea, the Middle East, and the UK.
The founder comes from a finance background, having previously worked at Barclays before transitioning into film production, where they continue to blend creative and commercial expertise. Recent productions include the horror comedy Murder Ballads, starring Simon Callow.
